Sam ‘Liam’ Zadeh is an American Systems Engineering professional and Technical Program Manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) who has worked on crucial missions, including Europa Clipper, which is exploring Jupiter’s ocean moon to assess its potential habitability; Mars 2020 – Perseverance Rover, which is investigating Jezero Crater in the search for signs of ancient life and caching samples for future return to Earth; and Psyche, the first mission to a metal-rich asteroid believed to represent the exposed core of an early planet.
He has also contributed to SPHEREx, which studies the origins of the universe and the formation of galaxies; Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, dedicated to high-precision measurements of global sea level rise and climate change; SWOT (Surface Water and Ocean Topography), which maps Earth’s oceans and freshwater resources; and NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar), a joint mission focused on observing Earth’s dynamic processes, including ecosystems, natural hazards, and climate impacts.
Across these programs, Liam’s work spans systems engineering, mission integration, flight readiness, and technical program leadership, supporting complex spacecraft from development through launch and on orbit operations.
